Caroline Wiggins Responsible Person
I gained my NNEB in 1986, and have served many years working with children up to the age of 12 years. When I first left college I traveled to the United Kingdom where I had the role as a live in nanny, then after I worked in a large nursery. I returned to the Isle of Man and set up as a private childminder for under 2's, this led to opening 1st Class Pre-School in 1996; my role over the 23 years has given me great pleasure and gratification in watching countless children come through nursery and flourish into exceptional adults.
Susan Bedford
Nursery Manager
After receiving my NNEB in 1987 I moved to London where I took on various private nanny jobs, this then led further afield to becoming a private nanny in Toronto Canada. I have worked in numerous large nurseries one of which catered for 187 children. Since returning to the Isle of Man I have worked for 1st Class Pre-School off and on since 2003, I took some time off in-between to become a mother myself where upon I became a registered childminder. I returned to 1st Class Pre – School on a full time basis in 2016 as the Deputy, recently I have been promoted to the Manager. I am currently receiving training in management for small nurseries & playgroups.
Kirsty Malloy
Nursery Deputy
I initially started with 1st Class Pre-School as a school holiday assistant afterwards I became one of the full time team members; following much perseverance with the insufficient local level 3 training available I finally received my Level 3 for Children’s Care Learning & Development. I have had the role of Deputy for many years and work closely with the responsible person and the manager to help maintain the excellent structure of the nursery.
Working with preschool children has given me a great deal satisfaction in observing their individuality personalities. In September 2019 I will receive trainng in management for small nurseries & playgroups.
