Missing Child Procedure
In the case of a missing person

-
Alert a senior member of staff
-
Report to the manager or deputy all relevant information surrounding the child’s disappearance
-
Always remember the safety of the remaining children with regard to safety, supervision and security
-
One or two members should search the immediate vicinity ensuring that the remaining children are suitably supervised
-
If a child cannot be found within 15 minutes then the parents, carers and social services must be informed immediately
-
A further expanded search should continue
-
Once the situation has been resolved a team meeting must take place at the earliest possible time to address the circumstances, review and ensure measures to avoid a similar incident
