
Health and Safety
We aim to assure the health and safety of all individuals who may be affected by the club’s activities. Each individual has the responsibility to themselves and others to behave in a way that will not put themselves or others at risk or harm.
We will do our best to see that the premises we use and our equipment within are well maintained and fit for purpose.
Each individual is responsible to report defects or deficiencies so they may be corrected.
Each individual is responsible for using equipment in the appropriate manner
Risk Assessment
We will assess risks as required and review these periodically.
Staff will conduct daily safety checks
Accidents
Procedures are in place for recording accidents
Illness and administration of medicine
Policies are in place for recording exclusions from club through infection /disease and medication forms
First Aid
All members of staff hold a current first aid certificate
Fire Safety
We are vigilant to fire safety hazards. Notices explaining procedure to follow in the event of a fire are on display
All staff have received relevant fire training
Hygiene
We aim to promote high standards of hygiene in nursery
We will set a good example by talking to the children about good hygiene as appropriate
Nursery is kept in extremely clean condition
We pay particular attention to food and service areas, washrooms and first aid situations
All staff have relevant food handling training
Smoking, drugs and alcohol

Smoking is prohibited within the building at all times.
We do not permit the consumption of alcoholic beverages in our setting at any time
We will not tolerate possession or use of classified drugs or misuse of prescribed drugs
Safety in the sun
We advise the parents to supply their child with hats and sun cream during the summer months.
