Confidentiality policy

 

Parents should have ready access to the files relating to their own child/children, but not have access to any information held on any other child.

 

Staff must not discuss individual children; accept for the purpose of the curriculum, with people other than the parents or carers of that child.

 

Information given by parents to the person in charge must not be passed on to any other carer or parent without permission.

 

Issues concerning employment of staff, whether paid or voluntary, must remain confidential to the people directly involved.

 

Any anxieties or evidence relating to a child’s personal safety will be kept in a confidential file and must not be made available except to the person in charge.

Students on placement or helpers must be advised of the confidentiality policy and required to respect it.
